Pulpit Rock, Enjoy the Beauty of Norway from Preikestolen Heights

Have you ever been on a rock cliff over 600 meters high and jutting into the sea? This cliff is without protection. If you're brave enough, you can even sit on the edge of the cliff.
For those of you who are adrenaline lovers, there's nothing wrong with trying Preikestolen or Pulpit Rock. It was called pulpit rock because the rock cliff with a flat surface and a size of about 25 x 25 meters looked like a giant pulpit. This flat surface was formed from ice expansion over 10,000 years ago.

Preikestolen is one of Norway's most visited nature attractions. This attraction is one of the world's most spectacular vantage points. You can enjoy the magnificent natural scenery from a height.
Once you get to the top, you may feel that the flat surface of the rock cliff was carved by humans. Or, you might imagine that a giant block of stone had fallen here thousands of years ago. It is nature's work.

Pulpit Rock is an amazing place. You can experience the sensation of being on top of the world. From there you can see directly the blue sea that stretches and the green trees far below.

According to history, these cliffs were formed from glaciers that melted 10,000 years ago. As soon as the pressure of the ice dissipated, the frozen mountains cracked and formed giant, flat cliffs.
The name Preikestolen aka Pulpit Rock has its own story. The first tourist to climb to this height was an athlete named Thomas Peter Randulff. While traveling to the Lysefjord, he pointed to the high cliff and said that the cliff was like a pulpit (preikestol).

Many visitors are casually sitting on the edge of the edge without any security. Even though there is no special fence or security.
