      Hang Son Doong is the largest cave in the world which was discovered by Ho Khanh in 1991. However, it was only discovered by Howard Limbert in 2009 when conducting research. The funny thing is, Khanh had forgotten the way back to the cave because of the closed access to it. This cave can only be found again two decades later.

After investigation, Han Son Doong is not just an ordinary cave. Han Son Doong has water like any other world with its own ecosystem. Finally, Han Son Doong was named the largest cave in the world by UNESCO and became a national park.

The residents who live in the national park area have started to leave their jobs as loggers. They changed professions as tour guides and opened lodging in their homes.

Son Doong Cave is the largest cave in the world in Vietnam. This cave is 3.1 miles long, 660 feet wide, and 490 feet high. It is believed that it is 2-5 million years old. In Vietnamese called Hang Son Doong. Means Cave, River, and Mountain. This cave is not only large, but also unique because it has a garden inside.

Hang Son Doong is located in the heart of Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh Province, Vietnam.
If you are from Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi Continue to Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park by bus.You can also take the train from Dong Hoi City.

The largest vertical cave in the world was only opened to the public in 2014. At that time the local government had given permission to the tour operator to invite tourists to explore the beauty of this vertical cave. Since that time, there have been 900 people who have explored the beauty of the world's largest vertical cave.

If you are interested in visiting here, you have to be really patient. Because the Vietnamese government only allows 300-500 visitors to the cave every year.

You may even have to wait 2 years for it to come. Because the waiting list is huge.
The only operator that provides this cave tour is the adventure tour company Oxalis from Vietnam.

Once approved, you can go to Vietnam and meet the tour group. This tour only takes place once a week, annually. Between February and August.

On one tour there are only 10 guests allowed. You will be accompanied by 2 cave experts, 3 local guides, 2 cooks and 2 park rangers.

Plus 20 porters to help carry your belongings. Forget about luxury and expensive resorts. You will experience a unique and rare by joining this tour.
You must also follow strict medical tests before joining the expedition. Because this expedition tour lasts for 5 days and takes an arduous path.

Inside the cave there is Edam garden which is a forest inside a cave, which was formed as a result of the collapse of the roof of Hang Son Doong and created a hole 450 meters deep, up to 200 meters wide, and let light in. Edam Park has trees 30 meters high covering the cone of the wall.
