Camel Riding at Cable Beach
Tourists who visit Broome and stop at Cable Beach will usually ride camels. You can see this humped animal which usually lives in the desert on the beach.
The name of this beach is taken from the telegraph cable that crosses the ocean from Java Island to Australia, to be exact. Australia was the world's first liaison by means of an underwater telegraph in October 1872.
The coastline of Cable Beach is 22 kilometers long, with a contrasting blend of white sand and turquoise sea water. This beach is also a favorite location for visitors to enjoy sunset.
Staircase to The Moon Natural Phenomenon
In addition to enjoying the sunset and riding camels, Cable Beach is also a location to witness the staircase to the moon phenomenon.
This unique natural phenomenon you can see during the full moon. The moonlight reflects off the surface of the ocean when the waves are receding, creating the optical illusion of a ladder. Staircase to the moon can be seen during March – October in the middle of each month.

Broome Hovercraft Tour
Take a hovercraft tour and take in the scenic beauty of Broome along the way. This tour uses amphibious vehicles that operate during low tide.
There are several tours you can take. For history lovers, you can join the Scenic and Prehistoric Tour, and the Sunset Tour for dusk hunters. While on the Flying Boat Wrecks Tour, you can see the wrecks of World War II ships submerged in the sand with some of them sticking out of the surface. Ticket prices vary, ranging from AU$119 – $172.

Dinosaur Footprints at Gantheaume Point
Dinosaur footprints from the Cretaceous era around 130 million years ago you can see on the rock cliffs in this area. The dinosaur footprints will only be visible when the tide is receding, or below 2.16 meters. Existing dinosaur footprints include those of the species Stegosaurus, Sauropod, Theropod, Wintonopus, and Megolosauropus Broomensis.
Travelers who want to see evidence of ancient life are advised not to visit the location directly, given the unpredictable movement of the waves. You should contact the information center first. Apart from dinosaur footprints, plant fossils are also preserved in the Broome Sandstone area, Gantheaume Point and along the coast to the north.
Weekend Market
Broome Courthouse Market has been in operation for more than 20 years. The location remains the same from when it was first held, in front of the Broome Courthouse.
The market starts to operate on Saturdays and Sundays from 08.00 – 13.00. The products sold are diverse, such as Aboriginal handicrafts, photography works, clothing, jewelry and food. For lovers of unique items sold at low prices, you can visit this place.
