Fun Visiting the Fairyland of Tivoli Garden

Exciting Holidays at Ria Tivoli Garden Denmark

Tivoli Garden is the most famous amusement park in Denmark which opened on 15 August 1843. It is the third oldest amusement park in the world after Dyrehavsbakken and Vienna Prater. Being one of the first amusement parks in the world certainly makes Tivoli an inspiration to many. Interestingly, this theme park was the inspiration for Walt Disney to build Disneyland.

The theme park was first called "Tivoli & Vauxhall". Founded by Georg Carstensen (born 1812 and died 1857), earned a 5 year charter to create Tivoli by telling King Christian VIII that "when people entertain themselves they don't think of politics".

The king granted Carstensen use of about 15 acres (61,000 m²) of fortified glacis outside Vesterport (West Gate) for annual rent. Until the 1850s, Tivoli was outside the city, and could be accessed from the city only via Vesterport.

Offering beautiful views among beautiful gardens, historic buildings, and exotic architectural masterpieces, the Tivoli Garden is one of the most valuable treasures of the Danish government and the city of Copenhagen.
At nightfall, thousands of colorful lights adorn this amusement park, which was founded in 1843, and makes Tivoli Garden a dream garden in a fairy tale.

Tivoli includes a variety of attractions to pamper its visitors, in the form of buildings with exotic Orient imaginary styles, such as: band booths, theaters, cafes and restaurants, flower gardens, and mechanical amusement rides, such as carousels, primitive scenic trains and many others.

Renowned writer Hans Christian Andersen likes to visit this place time and time again, the same is done by Walt Disney and other celebrities of the world.
At Tivoli Garden, you can enjoy a variety of amusement rides, from the Vertigo ride that will flip your body over at 100 km/hour to the wooden Roller Coaster that has been around since 1914.

If hungry, a variety of dishes are ready to eat from traditional Danish cuisine, French bistro to Asian cuisine.
At Tivoli Garden you can also enjoy world-class music shows, Summer Classic and Friday Rock.
This amusement park is open almost daily from 11.00 to 23.00 local time.

Due to its (very) old age, the trees and vegetation at Tivoli Gardens are really "ripe". Big and solid, like in Efteling, because it has grown for hundreds of years.

Lush and “ripe” plants and vegetation can create an atmosphere that is second to all It can make the atmosphere serene, romantic, fresh. It can also change according to the weather, season, light, and decoration. This atmosphere cannot be imitated by the “concrete and cement” playground.

Tivoli Gardens is quite focused on their landscape and tries to maximize its open spaces. It seems that they don't want to build a lot of indoor space, except for the restaurant and the performance hall.
And indeed, the landscaping is really really good.

During its 176 years of existence, Tivoli certainly hasn't always looked the same. The old rides need to be refurbished. Several parts were also destroyed and rebuilt due to the war. Even so, the Tivoli continues to evolve without losing the charisma that had existed since it was first built.
As the year goes by, Tivoli Garden is always updating and adding new rides to attract visitors.
